Ultimaps Jun'25 Release: Pins Support and Updates to Choropleth Maps

This blog post will cover our updates in the Q1 and Q2 of 2025. A lot of things have been added and improved, thanks to feedback from our users.

We've shipped numerous updates to pins, including:

Better experience for tweaking pin label: you can now add and move pin labels right from the map. The smart algorithm will draw a line between the pin and the label if you move it away from the pin.
Pin labels can now be styled separately: when you select a pin label you can use the toolbar to change its style.
We added support for the outlined font style for the pin labels so they're more visible on a mixed background.

We've revisited the choropleth map experience and have added support for the palettes designed by Cynthia Brewer.
